A bridesmaid dress bought in or delivered to the UAE can cost anything from about AED 100 to well over AED 1,500, depending on where it comes from and how it is made. There is no published UAE average, so this guide puts together the prices we could verify, the best international benchmark, and the costs that sit around the dress itself, so you can set a realistic budget per bridesmaid.
What is the average price of a bridesmaid dress?
The most reliable figure comes from the United States. The Knot's 2025 Real Weddings Study, which surveyed nearly 17,000 couples married in 2024, put the average bridesmaid dress at $128, about AED 470. The Knot notes the figure has barely moved since 2021, and that it runs closer to $140 in the American Northeast.
No Gulf survey publishes an equivalent number. Wedding spending in the UAE is also hard to pin down: published averages range from tens of thousands of dirhams to hundreds of thousands, and a Sharjah government department has only recently begun surveying Emirati couples on what they spend. So treat AED 450–500 as a sensible middle, not a rule, and look at what each type of seller actually charges.
What do different kinds of shops charge?
These are the ranges we found, checked in October 2026.
- Online marketplaces (about AED 100–320): Amazon.ae lists bridesmaid-style evening dresses from roughly AED 99 to AED 311. Cheap and fast, but fabric and colour vary, and matching several dresses is harder.
- International online brands (about AED 370–1,100 before delivery): Zola's guide puts most Azazie and Lulus looks under $150, ASOS and David's Bridal mostly under $200, and some Dessy gowns in the $300s. Add delivery and, above Dubai's AED 1,000 duty-free threshold, customs.
- Designer bridesmaid ranges at Dubai boutiques (about AED 1,100–1,400 and up): the Dubai bridal boutique You & I Bridal lists Tania Olsen bridesmaid dresses at AED 1,100–1,400, with 12–14 weeks of production and a rush option of 8–10 weeks at extra cost.
- Tailor-made: depends on the fabric and the workshop. A UAE tailoring guide puts traditional tailors in areas such as Meena Bazaar and Satwa at AED 50–300 per garment for the work alone; evening fabric, beading and lining are extra, and several fittings take time.
Hand-beaded and heavily embellished evening gowns sit above all of these, because the handwork takes many hours.

What pushes the price of a dress up?
Two dresses in the same colour can differ in price several times over. The main reasons:
- Fabric: polyester chiffon and crepe are the cheapest; satin with a good drape, silk blends and heavy sequin fabric cost more.
- Handwork: hand-sewn beads, pearls and crystals are the biggest single driver. Machine sequins look similar in photos but cost far less.
- Construction: a full lining, boning in a corset bodice and finished internal seams add cost and make a dress sit better.
- Made to order: custom measurements or colours usually mean a higher price and no returns.
- Speed: rush production, like the boutique option above, adds a fee.
If the budget is tight, spend on fabric and fit rather than embellishment. A well-cut plain dress photographs better than a poorly fitted beaded one.
What does being a bridesmaid cost on top of the dress?
The dress is often less than half the total. Zola's wedding cost data, as quoted in a 2026 guide, puts the cost of the dress plus alterations, shoes and accessories at $300–500 per bridesmaid, about AED 1,100–1,850. Add whatever applies to your wedding:
- Alterations: hemming a long gown, taking in the bodice or adjusting straps. Beaded or layered skirts cost more to hem.
- Shoes and accessories: especially if the bride asks for a particular colour or heel.
- Hair, make-up and henna: in the Gulf these are often booked for the henna night and the wedding, which can mean two appointments.
- A second outfit: many brides ask close friends to dress up for the henna night or engagement as well.
- Delivery, duty and VAT: for dresses ordered from abroad.
Put these on the same list as the dress when you agree the budget, so no one is surprised later.
How do you set a fair budget for the group?
Start from the person with the tightest budget, not the dress you like most.
- Agree a ceiling per dress, in dirhams, before anyone starts browsing.
- Decide who pays for what. Our guide on who pays for bridesmaid dresses covers the common arrangements.
- If bridesmaids pay for themselves, a shared colour with free choice of cut lets each one spend what suits her.
- Compare landed prices, including delivery and any duty, rather than label prices.
- Leave a margin of about 20% for alterations and a last-minute fix.
A saving that is easy to forget: choose a dress the bridesmaid will wear again, to an engagement, Eid or a gala. A slightly dearer dress worn three times costs less per wear than a cheap one worn once.
How can you save without the dresses looking cheap?
The cameras will see colour, fit and fabric long before they see a price tag. A few ways to protect all three on a smaller budget:
- Keep the colour deep or muted. Burgundy, emerald, navy and mocha hide the difference between fabrics better than bright pastels, which show every change in sheen.
- Choose one fabric family. A group all in crepe or all in chiffon looks deliberate even if the dresses come from different price points.
- Put the embellishment on one person. A beaded gown for the maid of honour and plainer dresses for the others reads as a choice, not a compromise.
- Budget for one good fitting each. A hem at the right length and a bodice that sits flat do more than any added sparkle.
- Order early. Rush fees and express shipping are the easiest money to waste. Our guide to when to order bridesmaid dresses gives the timeline.
Where Lianora fits
Lianora supplies evening and bridesmaid dresses made by established Turkish ateliers, many of them hand-beaded, and delivers them across the UAE and the GCC in 10–15 days from the confirmed order. Customs duties and taxes are paid by Lianora, so the price shown in the shop is the price you pay. Prices are shown as a range on each design, and you can browse the bridesmaid dresses to compare them with the ranges above.
Before you order for a group, read the sizes and fit guide: unworn pieces can be exchanged within 7 days of delivery, but altered pieces cannot.
Questions
What is a reasonable budget for a bridesmaid dress in the UAE?
Around AED 450–500 matches the best international benchmark, The Knot's $128 average. Marketplace dresses start near AED 100, and designer bridesmaid ranges in Dubai boutiques start around AED 1,100.
Why are some bridesmaid dresses so expensive?
Mostly handwork and fabric. Hand-sewn beading, a full lining and a structured bodice take hours of skilled work, and made-to-order or rush production adds more.
Is it cheaper to rent a bridesmaid dress in Dubai?
Rental can be cheaper for a single designer dress, but it is hard to rent several matching dresses in the right sizes. See our guide to renting or buying an evening dress.
