The best-known bridesmaid labels are American, and not all of them deliver to the UAE. Before you fall for a colour chart, check three things: whether the brand ships to your country at all, what the dress costs once delivery, duty and VAT are added, and what happens if a dress does not fit. This guide groups the main options by how they reach the Gulf, so you can compare like with like.
Which well-known bridesmaid brands are there?
The wedding planning site Zola keeps a list of the main places to buy bridesmaid dresses, and it is a useful map of the market, even though it is written for American couples. A few names come up again and again:
- Azazie: made-to-order dresses in more than 80 colours and sizes 0–30, with a custom-measurement option and a range of modest styles. Zola notes most looks are under $150.
- Birdy Grey: chiffon gowns from $99, with convertible, plus-size and maternity styles.
- The Dessy Group: the company behind Dessy, After Six and Jenny Yoo, with some gowns in the $300s and a ready-to-ship range.
- ASOS: most gowns under $200, in petite, tall, maternity and curve ranges.
- Kennedy Blue, Lulus, Adrianna Papell, BHLDN and Revelry: each with its own niche, from very low prices to beading and sequins.
Those prices are before delivery and, for the Gulf, before any duty or tax. The bigger question is whether the brand will send a parcel to Dubai or Riyadh at all.
Which of them actually deliver to the UAE?
This changes often, so treat what follows as a starting point and confirm at checkout.
- ASOS has a UAE delivery page and a UAE returns page, with returns collected or dropped off through Aramex. It is one of the simplest international options for a Gulf address.
- Azazie publishes a list of the countries it ships to in its help centre. When we checked in October 2026, that list included Saudi Arabia but not the United Arab Emirates, and it said orders cannot be shipped to countries outside the list.
- The Dessy Group announced in 2021 that it had partnered with the cross-border service GlobalShopex to sell to more than 200 international markets, with checkout in local currency and a landed cost shown before you pay.
- Birdy Grey and Revelry do not clearly list the Gulf. A Revelry customer in Canada reported that international home try-on was not offered, and articles about Birdy Grey abroad describe shoppers using a US freight-forwarding address instead.
A freight forwarder can make almost any American brand reachable, but it adds a second shipping fee and makes a return much harder. For a whole group of bridesmaids, that risk multiplies.

What will a dress from abroad really cost?
The price on the label is only part of it. For a parcel into the UAE, add:
- Delivery: international shipping, or two legs if you use a forwarder.
- Customs duty: the GCC common tariff on most clothing is 5% of the value including shipping. From 3 August 2026, Dubai Customs exempts eligible cross-border e-commerce parcels worth up to AED 1,000 from customs duty, as reported by Khaleej Times; above that, duty applies.
- VAT: 5% in the UAE, and 15% in Saudi Arabia, charged on imports whatever their value.
- Clearance fees: couriers often charge a handling fee for paying duty on your behalf.
A worked example: a $150 dress with $40 delivery is about AED 700. Below the AED 1,000 threshold it avoids Dubai duty but still carries VAT of roughly AED 35, plus any courier fee. Order four dresses in one parcel and you pass the threshold, so duty is due on the whole shipment. Splitting orders to dodge duty is not worth the risk of colours arriving from different dye lots.
Some sellers show a landed price at checkout and pay these charges for you; others leave them for the courier to collect at your door. Always check which kind of seller you are buying from.
Why do returns matter more for bridesmaids?
A bridesmaid order is several people's sizes, bought at once, often weeks before anyone can try anything on. Read the return terms before the colour chart.
- Made-to-order usually means no returns. Zola notes that Bella Bridesmaids' made-to-order gowns cannot be returned, and many custom-measurement dresses work the same way. Azazie's help centre describes its dresses as cut and sewn after the order is placed.
- Return shipping from the Gulf costs money and time. ASOS's UAE returns page says a return takes about 21 working days to process, which is a long time in a wedding countdown.
- Altered dresses can rarely be returned anywhere. Try every dress on the day it arrives, before a tailor touches it.
UAE consumer law also gives buyers rights when goods are faulty, whatever a shop's own policy says, so keep your order emails and photograph any defect as soon as you find it.
What about buying in the UAE instead?
Buying locally or regionally trades some choice for certainty. There are three main routes.
- Bridal and evening boutiques: you can see the fabric and colour in person, and many offer fittings. Dubai's best-known bridal boutiques, such as those in What's On's guide, are mainly for the bride's own gown, so ask whether they carry bridesmaid ranges or can order a group.
- Tailors: a good tailor can make matching dresses in any fabric, which suits modest cuts and unusual sizes, but quality depends entirely on the workshop and you will need several fittings.
- Regional online boutiques: shops that sell to the Gulf from the Gulf usually deliver faster, quote prices in dirhams or riyals, and handle duties before the parcel reaches you.
Whichever route you take, make the colour decision with a physical swatch or a dress in hand. Screens and studio lights shift colour, and a group of dresses in slightly different shades is the one thing photographs will not hide.
A checklist for comparing brands
Put every option you are considering through the same questions.
- Does it deliver to every bridesmaid's country, not just the bride's?
- Is the price shown including duty and VAT, or will the courier collect them?
- How long from order to delivery, and does that leave time for alterations?
- Can a dress be exchanged or returned from the Gulf, at whose cost, and within how many days?
- Are all the dresses cut from the same dye lot if you order together?
- Does the size chart give measurements in centimetres, not just US numbers? Our guide to dress size conversion explains the differences.
- Does it offer modest options, such as long sleeves and high necks, in the same colour?
For timing, our guide to when to order bridesmaid dresses works backwards from the wedding date.
Where Lianora fits
Lianora is a regional supplier of evening and bridesmaid dresses made by established Turkish ateliers, and it delivers across the UAE and the GCC. Pieces arrive 10–15 days after the order is confirmed, and Lianora pays the customs duties and taxes, so the price you see is not topped up at the door. Unworn pieces in their original packaging can be exchanged within 7 days of delivery; altered pieces cannot.
If you are comparing options for a bridal party, browse the bridesmaid dresses, and read delivery and returns alongside the terms of any other shop on your list.
Questions
Does Azazie deliver to Dubai?
When we checked Azazie's help centre in October 2026, its list of shipping countries included Saudi Arabia but not the UAE. Lists like this change, so check the country selector at checkout before planning around it.
Do I pay customs on a bridesmaid dress ordered from abroad?
In Dubai, eligible e-commerce parcels worth up to AED 1,000 have been exempt from customs duty since 3 August 2026; above that, duty of 5% usually applies to clothing. VAT of 5% is due either way, unless the seller has already paid it.
Is it cheaper to have bridesmaid dresses made by a tailor in Dubai?
Sometimes, especially for simple cuts in a fabric you choose. Add the cost of fabric and several fittings, and allow more time; a tailor suits a group that needs modest or unusual cuts, while a ready-made dress is quicker and more predictable.
Can bridesmaids in different countries order from the same brand?
Only if the brand delivers to all of them, so check each country before you choose. Ordering everything to one address and handing dresses out is safer for colour matching, but it moves the fitting and any exchange to one person.
